What knitwear do we manufacture?

Knitwear behaves differently from cut-and-sew: gauge, yarn count and linking quality decide the hand-feel, not a fabric roll. As a knitwear manufacturer we knit sweaters from 7GG to 14GG in cotton and cotton blends, in fully-fashioned or knitted-panel construction, and finish every piece by washing, drying flat and measuring after relaxation.

Which yarns and gauges do we knit?

Gauge is the number of needles per inch: 7GG is a chunky winter knit, 12GG a mid-weight sweater and 14GG a fine, shirt-like fabric. Yarns are cotton, cotton-acrylic and cotton-wool blends stocked seasonally, dyed to your Pantone reference or lab-dipped for approval. A reference garment tells us gauge, yarn count and stitch structure faster than any description, so send one where you can. Where your palette is colour-critical the fabric sourcing team runs yarn lab dips before knitting begins.

• 7GG–9GG — chunky ribs, cable knits and heavyweight crewnecks
• 10GG–12GG — everyday sweaters and cardigans, the most common commercial gauge

How is knitwear constructed and finished?

Fully-fashioned panels are knitted to shape and linked at the seams, which gives clean armholes and no cut edges; knitted-panel construction cuts shaped pieces from a knitted blank and overlocks them, which is faster and cheaper for simple silhouettes. We tell you which suits the style before sampling. Every knit is washed, dried flat and measured after relaxation — dimensions are confirmed on the finished garment, not off the machine, because a knit that measures right on the bed can shrink 4–8% once it relaxes.

• Neck tapes, shoulder tapes and reinforced button plackets on cardigans
• Anti-pilling finishes and enzyme washes for cotton blends on request
• Grading through pattern making and grading to your size chart

How do branding and decoration work on knits?

The strongest knitwear branding is knitted in: intarsia logos, jacquard patterns and tonal texture blocks. Embroidery works on stable structures and runs through printing and embroidery workshops we audit, sampled on the actual knit so the stitches do not distort the fabric. Woven neck labels, hem tags and hangtags are applied in-house through private label.

What are the MOQ and lead times for knitwear?

Knitwear MOQ is 100 pieces per style, higher than our cut-and-sew lines because yarn is dyed to order in minimum lots. Samples take 10–15 days through sample development, and bulk ships 24–30 days after approval once yarn is in house. The MOQ guide explains why yarn lots set the floor.

Which quality checks run before knitwear ships?

• Yarn: lab dip approval and count verification before knitting
• Knitting: gauge and tension checked on the first panels; linking inspected on every piece
• Measurement: washed, dried flat and measured after relaxation against your sheet
• Finishing: pilling test on the finished garment, label and packing spec at final inspection
