What swimwear do we manufacture?

Swimsuit manufacturers differ mostly in how they handle stretch knit, lining and elastic — the three things that decide whether a swimsuit survives a season of pool water. Our swimwear range covers:

Which fabrics, linings and construction methods do we use?

Shell fabric is nylon/spandex or polyester/spandex swim knit at 190–220 GSM with four-way stretch. Nylon/spandex has the softer hand-feel most brands want for fashion swimwear; polyester/spandex takes sublimation prints better and holds colour longer in chlorinated water. Front panels and the crotch are always lined — usually in a lighter matching swim knit — and one-pieces and bikini tops can take removable padding or moulded cups. Swim knit is bought by composition and weight, not by name: tell us the hand-feel and price point and we will match it. Prints influence the decision too — all-over sublimation needs a polyester base, while solid colours and digital prints run on either. Edges are finished with elastic binding sewn under tension so the garment grips without digging in, or with folded coverstitched edges where the design calls for a cleaner line. Straps are adjustable with rings and sliders where specified, and seams that carry load — underband, leg openings, strap attachments — are bar-tacked. Swim trunks get a mesh or knit brief liner, an elastic waistband with drawcord, and a secure pocket option.

How does production work from tech pack to bulk order?

Send a tech pack, or screenshots plus a reference sample with notes on fit and coverage. We confirm fabric and lining, draft the pattern, and produce a prototype in 8–15 days through our sample development process. Fit approval on swimwear should happen on a body, not a table — elastic tension reads completely differently when worn, and swimwear blocks are drafted with negative ease, smaller than the body. Bulk production runs 24–30 days after sample approval, with in-line QC and a final inspection before packing.

MOQ is 50 pieces per style with sizes mixed freely. All-over prints are sublimated or digitally printed by audited partner workshops before cutting, so placement and colour are locked at the fabric stage. Hygienic liners are applied to bottoms as standard, and your labels, hangtags and packaging complete the private-label setup. Swim trunks can share prints and drawcord colours with the women's line, so a joint capsule produces as one program.

What quality control and testing applies to swimwear?

Swimwear has its own failure modes, so the QC plan goes beyond standard garment checks. Colourfastness is tested against chlorinated water using the method in ISO 105-E03 — the international standard for colour fastness to swimming-pool water — alongside sea-water and washing colourfastness where the fabric will be sold for beach use. Elastic is checked for stretch and recovery after repeated extension, because relaxed leg openings are the most common swimwear return. Final inspection covers lining attachment, binding tension at leg openings and straps, and hardware function — the components that fail in wear, not on a hanger.

Measurements are checked against the approved chart with a ±1 cm tolerance on critical points, shrinkage is verified after laundering, and chlorine and salt both degrade elastane over time — which is why fabric choice and testing matter more than any single seam. Can you add cups or padding to bikini tops and one-pieces?

Yes. Removable padding in a lined pocket is the standard option; moulded cups are available for styles that need more structure. Underband elastic width and tension are set to your spec, since support in wire-free swimwear comes from the underband.

Can you print my designs on swimwear?

All-over prints are sublimated or digitally printed on the fabric by audited partner print workshops before cutting, so colour and placement are consistent across sizes. Placement prints and logos are also possible. Send print artwork early — it affects fabric choice.

Is the swimwear lined?

Front panels and the crotch are always lined in a matching swim knit, and full lining is standard on one-pieces. Lining is what keeps swimwear opaque when wet — unlined swim fabric in light colours goes transparent in water, and we will tell you if a fabric choice risks that.

How long do swimwear samples and bulk take?

Samples take 8–15 days depending on style and whether fabric or prints must be sourced first. Bulk production takes 24–30 days after sample approval. Custom prints can add a few days at the fabric stage, which we confirm in the quotation.

What sizes can you produce?

XS to XXL on US, UK, EU or AU charts, or graded to your own chart. Swimwear fit is tension-based, so we recommend approving the fit sample on a live model in your core size and grading from that approved block.

Do swim trunks and rash guards follow the same MOQ?

Yes — 50 pieces per style across the whole swimwear range, including men's swim trunks and rash guards. Many brands run a women's and men's capsule together to share fabric, prints and one consolidated shipment.

Nylon or polyester swim fabric — which should I choose?
